1. Introductory statement on commitment to diversity
Alliance Tattoo Studio declares its full commitment to the principles of diversity, equality, and inclusion. We believe that tattooing is a form of self-expression that should be available to everyone, regardless of personal characteristics. Our goal is to create a space where diversity is seen as a strength, and discrimination of any kind is unacceptable. This Policy is part of our overall ethical strategy and applies to all employees, clients, and partners. We regularly review and update it to comply with modern social and legal standards of Ukraine, particularly the Law of Ukraine “On the Principles of Prevention and Combating Discrimination in Ukraine.”
2. Considering diversity in content creation
When creating content (photographs, texts, tattoo sketches, and social media publications), we actively consider diversity to reflect real society and avoid stereotypes.
- Photos and images: We include models of different ages, genders, ethnicities, body types, and characteristics (for example, with disabilities or unique appearances). For instance, the gallery on our website features clients from various cultural backgrounds to showcase the universality of tattoos.
- Texts and descriptions: Texts avoid gender-stereotypical language, using neutral expressions (for example, “client” instead of gendered terms). Service descriptions emphasize an individual approach rather than generalized assumptions.
- Sketches and design: When creating sketches, we consider cultural sensitivity and avoid motifs that may be offensive to certain groups (such as religious symbols without client consent).
This ensures that our content is representative and promotes a positive perception of diversity.
3. Inclusion practices
The Studio implements specific practices to ensure inclusion in all aspects of its activities.
- Language of communication: We use inclusive language in consultations, on the website, and on social media, avoiding words that may exclude certain groups.
- Images and accessibility: All important photos on the website include alternative texts (alt-text) for users with visual impairments. The site is adapted for screen readers, features high color contrast, and allows text enlargement.
- Accessibility of services: The Studio is gradually working on improving facilities for clients with disabilities. If certain accommodations are unavailable (for example, lack of a ramp), clients are informed in advance. Online consultations are available for people with limited mobility.
4. Prohibition of discrimination: examples and effective measures
Discrimination in any form is prohibited in the Studio. We apply a zero-tolerance policy toward bias.
- Examples of unacceptable behavior: Refusal of service based on ethnicity, offensive comments about a client’s religion, ignoring the needs of a person with a disability (for example, refusing assistance when entering the premises).
- Effective measures: Immediate management intervention, investigation of the incident, disciplinary actions (from warning to dismissal). For clients – official apologies and compensation (such as a discount on services).
Each case is recorded for further analysis and prevention.
5. Complaint handling procedure for discrimination
We ensure a transparent complaint review process to resolve issues promptly.
- Filing a complaint: Clients or employees can file a complaint through chat, messengers, or directly with the administrator. The complaint should include a description of the incident, date, and names of participants.
- Review: Management reviews the complaint within three business days, interviewing participants and analyzing evidence.
- Decision: The results are communicated to the complainant with a description of the actions taken. If discrimination is confirmed, sanctions are applied.
- Appeal: The decision can be appealed to an independent commission (for example, through government bodies).
All complaints are handled confidentially to protect all parties involved.
6. Team training plans
Training is a key element in supporting an inclusive culture.
- Trainings: All employees undergo training on inclusion, anti-discrimination, and cultural sensitivity.
- Topics: Understanding diversity, working with vulnerable groups, inclusive communication.
- Format: Online courses, seminars, and role-playing sessions for practical application.
7. Responsible persons and E-E-A-T
The senior administrator of the Studio is responsible for implementing and monitoring the Diversity Policy. An internal report on the implementation of diversity principles is prepared annually, including:
the level of client satisfaction with the service;
the number of requests related to inclusion issues;
the results of staff surveys regarding comfort and safety within the team.
We demonstrate genuine commitment to diversity principles rather than formal compliance with requirements.
This Diversity Policy is mandatory for everyone at the Alliance Tattoo Studio and takes effect from the date of approval. For any questions, please write in the chat or in Telegram.
Sincerely, The Administration of tattookiev.org.
