    Tattoo rework

If you want to get a tattoo in Kyiv, or an old tattoo has been bothering you for a long time – our masters will help you! We make tattoos in various styles of almost any complexity! We can also cover or correct an old tattoo so that it looks “like new” again. The master will help with the selection or development of a sketch, the main thing is that you know exactly what you want. At the meeting with the master, all nuances regarding the sketch, time frames and the cost of the entire work are discussed. Take the first step – sign up for a meeting.

    Tattoo cover-up

With a new tattoo it is possible to cover old (ugly) tattoos, scars (healed cuts, burns, surgical scars) and other unaesthetic marks on the skin. This procedure is called “Cover-up”, which translates from English as Cover-up meaning to hide or cover. Such a procedure should be performed by a very experienced master who has already done many similar reworks. It is important to know that some rework options are simply impossible without tattoo laser removal and development of a new drawing (similar in silhouette).

    Tattoos on scars

We cover almost any scars (cicatrices) with tattoos: after operations (caesarean section, appendicitis, etc.), after burns, after various cuts and injuries. The relief of the scar will remain, but an experienced master can nicely mask it in the contours and correctly selected details of the tattoo. In some cases the scar becomes almost invisible. For masking, the postoperative scar should be no younger than 9 months (better more than 1 year). Small scars (cicatrices) from cuts no younger than six months (better more than 1 year).

The best tattoo salons in Kyiv can always boast of good masters in cover-up. An experienced master with a high level of artistic skill can completely change the appearance of a boring or unsuccessful tattoo. All this is available thanks to tattoo correction, restoration or rework.

During the restoration (rework, correction) the master does everything necessary to improve the appearance of the tattoo. Lines that have lightened or blurred are touched up with paint, shadow transitions and new elements are added, details are highlighted using white paint. If the drawing requires full covering, then «Cover-up» is used.

Cover-up (eng. “Cover-up”) – this is covering or rework of a tattoo by overlaying a new drawing on the old one. Thanks to this the tattoo can be changed beyond recognition! Sometimes to improve the quality of the image laser lightening may be needed. After that the artist applies a new image, selecting colors and lines according to the old tattoo.

If the tattoo was done poorly or just got boring, cover-up is what you need! The old drawing is completely covered with a new high-quality and beautiful one. As a result, an artistic masterpiece a bit larger in size will appear in place of the ugly drawing.

    • Important to know: often for cover-up it is necessary to do 2-3 sessions of laser lightening!

If the tattoo that needs to be covered has lines or black color elements, then a few weeks after the cover-up all dark elements may “appear” on the new tattoo! Therefore the drawing for cover-up needs to be chosen darker and larger in size than the one currently on the body! If the new work has light fragments, then (to minimize the effect of the old work appearing) it is necessary to do about 2-3 sessions of laser lightening. The interval between sessions is about two months. If the tattoo is fresh – you need to wait 1 month before the first laser session. After the lightening procedure the master can make you a “photo example” of the future cover-up (based on your preferences).

If you want to get rid of the drawing completely without covering it with something else, in this case only laser tattoo removal will help you. The Q-Switch technology used for this is the most advanced method existing now. More about laser removal…

The laser beam affects directly the paint pigment in the skin without damaging the covers themselves. As a result of the impact the ink breaks into small particles and is removed by the body’s lymphatic fluid independently as a result of metabolic processes. Thanks to such a targeted effect no scars, cicatrices or burns remain on the skin.

The process of tattoo removal takes a lot of time: at least 4-6 sessions are needed between which a break of 1-3 months is required. The duration of the interval between sessions depends on many factors and is prescribed by a specialist! However all the efforts and waiting time are worth the final result! The tattoo that annoys your eyes and causes only unpleasant emotions will gradually lighten until it practically completely disappears. At the same time no scar will remain in its place to “adorn” which will remind that there was once a drawing or some manipulations were performed there.

If laser tattoo removal is a painful, expensive and long process for you, then the optimal option is cover-up!

After injuries or operations on the body scars or cicatrices often remain that spoil the appearance. Most methods that offer removal of such unattractive marks do not have high efficiency. And long postoperative scars cannot be removed at all. However you can find another way to restore the attractiveness of your appearance. Instead of long and ineffective removal of the scar (cicatrix) you can apply a tattoo on top and such an original decoration will make this flaw barely noticeable!

Thanks to a tattoo on the scar you can reveal your individuality, declare to others your life position and your own vision of the world. Body drawings carry not just a decorative function but are also a reflection of the peculiarities of a person’s thinking. With the help of creative tattoo on the cicatrix you will be able to stand out from the crowd and feel quite comfortable because the scar will be hidden in the patterns of the drawing! At the same time the nature of the images can be quite diverse: both refined, emphatically feminine and sexual, and masculine rough. To mask post-traumatic cicatrices masters use tattoo contours for “masking” the edges of the scar. Such tattoos look spectacular turning the scar from a detail that spoils the appearance into an exquisite decoration. Of course for this the master must be extremely attentive and approach the matter as creatively as possible. After all he has to select or develop a sketch of the appropriate drawing taking into account the shape of the scar and the client’s creative requirements for the drawing. Thus the tattoo developed and applied by the master on the scar will actually be unique. At the same time you can participate in the development of the sketch selecting the image to your taste (this can be done before the session).

For example if “mystical power hidden in symbols” is important to you you will be able to select a combination of symbols or mystical images that correspond to your character and aspirations. Fixed on the body they will help in the realization of your desires in the future. If you are kind and filled with love select an image that symbolizes this all-encompassing feeling: a heart, a flower or the name of your loved one. Applied to the skin such a drawing will become a unique gift to your half. And it will undoubtedly be appreciated – after all not everyone will dare to make such a gift.

If you have already decided what image you want to see as your tattoo on the scar (cicatrix) when visiting the salon take its sketch or photo with you. Be sure to discuss all the nuances with the master – the features of the scar may require making some reworks to the image. If you have not been able to embody your idea in a finished form just tell the master about it. Together with him you will be able to choose the perfect option. For active and cheerful people this will be a great opportunity not just to correct their appearance but to radically change it.

When going to a tattoo salon to cover scars some nuances should be taken into account:

The scar does not disappear without a trace but simply becomes barely noticeable! Therefore with good lighting and from a close distance the relief of the cicatrix may be visible in the patterns of the tattoo. A tattoo can be applied to a scar only if it has completely healed. Usually the cut skin is fully restored within several months: small scars from 3 months and large postoperative scars from 6-12 months. After waiting for this leave any doubts and be sure that the tattoo salon masters will be able to turn the cicatrix that spoils your life into a new beautiful detail of your appearance.

Enough doubting, time to act! Turn your scar into your own unique decoration. Reveal your new beauty to the world!

First before signing up for a session with the master you need to decide on the idea, tattoo style, location and specific sketch. If you only have an idea about the desired tattoo but have not decided specifically you need to sign up for a personal consultation with the master. He will answer all the questions that interest you about the tattoo process, preparation for the session and care for the tattoo. And also help to choose the best idea.

Nowadays tattoos are done on absolutely the entire body: from the back of the head to the foot. However not all places are equally successful for tattoos. There are places where the drawings will hold poorly and masters do not recommend choosing them. It is also important that the picture looks harmoniously on the skin and does not deform during movement. Therefore before deciding on the choice of skin area you need to consult personally with the master at the consultation. He will suggest which choice will be better based on the anatomical features of the body, the tattoo process and how it will “wear” on the body.

Applying a tattoo to the skin is not the most pleasant process but quite tolerable. Painfulness is affected by the place where the tattoo is applied; personal pain threshold; session duration and other factors. For example in areas where the skin is thinner and the bone is closer – the process is more unpleasant and vice versa. If the process is quick – it is more tolerable and the longer – the harder it becomes to endure it. An experienced master will tell you about all the features of the tattoo process at the preliminary consultation.

The duration of the tattoo process and the number of sessions depends on the complexity of the sketch: its size, detail and style. For example a miniature work in color 3D realism takes much longer than a tattoo on the whole arm with one line. In order for the master to be able to name the exact time of the work he needs to clearly know which specific sketch you have chosen on which place and what size you want to make it. For this a personal consultation is necessary.

Tattoo masters refuse clients in a state of alcoholic and drug intoxication. Since this not only affects the awareness of decision-making but increases bleeding and rejection of the paint pigment. For the same reason it is not recommended to drink a lot of coffee before and during the session.

There is also a number of diseases that are contraindications namely: blood diseases (AIDS, hepatitis etc.), heart, diabetes, loss of consciousness (epilepsy), as well as a tendency to form scars and allergies.

Masters do not recommend doing tattoos for girls during “critical days”, pregnancy and breastfeeding period. The session should be postponed if you have a cold, have an elevated body temperature or are taking such medications as: antibiotics, insulin, aspirin etc.

About any nuances of the features of your health it is necessary to inform the tattoo master at the consultation before the session.

If you want a beautiful high-quality tattoo that will please you for many years it is necessary to properly care for it and follow a few rules. After the session and until the skin is completely healed (on average it is 10-14 days); you cannot steam the skin (hot baths, saunas, solariums) and in general visit public water bodies. Also avoid direct sunlight, do not sunbathe.

During healing the skin with the tattoo will be covered with a natural film. It should not be torn off or scratched in any case. Refrain from sports in the first days and make sure that the clothing does not rub the skin.

Be sure to follow all the recommendations of the tattoo master for caring for a fresh tattoo and do not violate the rules. This affects both the beauty of the drawing on the skin and your health condition.
